Under direction to perform maintenance of MST’s rolling stock to insure continued safe operation.
Safety inspection; lubrication; changing tires; engine and transmission work; electrical and air‑conditioning work; body work; other maintenance duties as required.
KNOWLEDGE & ABILITY
Knowledge and experience with diesel and gasoline engines. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions; ability to qualify for Class B license; familiarity with all phases of vehicle maintenance; familiarity with MST service area; ability to perform required duties.
Graduation from high school or GED equivalent; previous bus driving experience helpful but not required. Excellent driving record; licensed driver for 5 years; must possess valid California driver's license at time of application and meet all qualifications specified by the State of California for a Class B Drivers License; In accordance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986, must be prepared to offer documents to support employment eligibility; willingness to work outside.
If hired, must pass a post offer pre-employment drug screening and a pre-employment Military Clearance background check as well as a DMV required physical examination; o must pass vehicle controls test; obtain a Class B instruction permit with air-brakes certification, or posses a valid Class B license, participate in random drug and alcohol testing as mandated by the Department of Transportation and join Local 1225 of Amalgamated Transit Union.
