THE JOB: Under general direction, plan, organize, coordinate and implement the Santa Cruz County Workforce Development Board`s workforce and economic development strategies, programs, projects and related activities in cooperation with public agencies, educational institutions, businesses, community groups and contracted service providers; lead the coordination and integration of business engagement and career services across the local workforce development system, including the design, development and continuous improvement of programs, initiatives and partnerships; develop, prepare and review grant funding applications and proposals; analyze and evaluate County sponsored workforce development programs including contract administration and performance monitoring; provide fiscal and policy coordination for assigned workforce initiatives and related activities; develop and coordinate outreach, promotional and informational materials and activities; supervise or direct assigned staff and contract service providers.
THE REQUIREMENTS: Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college in business or public administration, finance, economics, community development or a related field AND three years professional experience in economic/business development program administration, community development or a related area.
