General Manager Position

Hacienda Carmel Community Association seeks an experienced on-site General Manager to oversee the operation of our 55+ community located in Carmel, California. 

Hacienda Carmel comprises 300 single-level condominium units spread over fifty acres next to the Carmel River with a variety of on-site amenities including a clubhouse with dining room, fitness room, community pool, eleven room guest house, walking trail, garden club, art club, library, wood shop, hair salon, auditorium, and more.

The Association is governed by a nine-member Board of Directors with support from various committees. The General Manager leads a team of 25 staff members in conjunction with departmental supervisors for accounting, grounds maintenance, building maintenance, front desk, housekeeping and security/resident services.

The General Manager`s primary responsibilities include coordinating day-to-day operations and care of the physical property, along with duties required for successful administration of the Association`s Operating Budget and Reserve Study, in collaboration with the Board`s goals and priorities. The GM also serves as the lead coordinator for special projects.

The successful candidate for this position will preferably have a minimum of three to five years of experience as an on-site HOA manager with a CMCA credential or equivalent, along with the following traits:

  • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written with the ability to interact in a positive manner with co-workers, vendors, contractors, and members of the community including the Board and other volunteers.
  • Strong knowledge of financial matters regarding analysis, planning, and reporting for budgeting, capital expenditures, and special projects.
  • Ability to effectively deal with personnel issues, as well as issues/complaints involving residents of the community or others.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple tasks or projects simultaneously.
