The City of Santa Cruz Water Department is looking for experienced candidates to apply for the position of Meter Supervisor position. The Water Department's service area consists of approximately 25,000 water services, including 3,000 fire services, and has been recently upgraded to an Advanced Metering Infrastructure system. This is a highly responsible position which oversees a staff of six people and provides critical support to both the Customer Service and Customer Assistance sections of Santa Cruz Municipal Utilities. A unique combination of interpersonal and technical skill is required to lead the Meter Operations team and ensure that interval meter reading data is consistently supplied to customers and the utility alike.  

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or tested equivalent, four years of experience working with water metering equipment, two years of lead or supervisory experience, California Department of Public Health (CDPH) D2 Certification, Certification as a backflow prevention device tester, and a valid California driver`s license.
