REPORTS TO: Director of Well-Being Programs 

FULL-TIME, EXEMPT with evenings and weekends as required working in both Monterey and Santa Cruz Counties

SALARY RANGE: $80,000-$85,000

POSITION SUMMARY: 

The Regional Manager of Well-Being Programs is a full-time, exempt management position leading and executing strategy for the Monterey County expansion of services. This position requires both visionary and strategic skillsets, related professional experience, along with enthusiasm for hands-on execution of program design, promotion, implementation and evaluation. Additional responsibilities include training facilitation, event management, and community outreach. Successful candidates must have the ability to work multigenerational and multicultural.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Includes the following and other duties as assigned. Employees work together (verses siloed) to ensure all TDC events and programs in Monterey and Santa Cruz are properly staffed and supported.  In a small team such as ours, all staff work interconnectedly and collaboratively with each other through a distributed leadership model. Vision and Strategy

  • Lead efforts for the Monterey County expansion of services and collaboration with Rainbow Connections colleagues.
  • With Director, hold responsibility for creating an annual strategic work plan, identify tactics, lead execution, and report results.
  • Working with the Development Department, identify a path for longevity of Monterey County services beyond current funding source: develop fundraising strategies, form strategic partnerships and networks; demonstrate evidence of impact; support grant writing efforts. 
  • Initiate and support efforts to initiate collaborations with with San Benito County.
  • Develop and manage program budget and resource allocation for Rainbow Connection efforts.
  • Forge lasting and impactful collaborative relationships with other LGBTQ+ serving organizations throughout the region.
  • Oversee and manage personnel as expansion efforts are realized.

Program Implementation 

  • Identify and deliver an annual calendar of programs, services, and events for both Monterey and Santa Cruz Counties. 
  • Work independently to create and execute a work plan which includes milestones, goals, outcomes and necessary organizational collaborations in alignment with organizational framework, logic models, interventions and Theory of Change. 
  • Organize Social Emotional Learning workshops, events and gatherings to promote LGBTQ+ youth and family well-being, empowerment and visibility for bi-county schools and youth serving organizations.
  • Oversee and advise Rainbow Connections Youth Empowerment Council and other population specific advisory groups.
  • Record and report program activities including required data collection and collection of narrative success stories that demonstrate progress toward strategic program goals. Conduct surveys and periodic performance evaluations to drive program improvement. Align with organization`s efforts to become a leading organization in gathering performance metrics and “evidence for change”.
  • Cultivate community engagement and volunteer opportunities in program delivery and event services. Assist with volunteer recruitment, training and assignments. 
  • Develop and implement awareness, marketing, and outreach strategies to expand program participation and authentic engagement with targeted populations.
  • Develop and maintain department specific policies, procedures, and protocols. 

Training and Education

  • Design and implement LGBTQ+ culturally relevant Social Emotional Learning (SEL) training that align with our well-being center philosophy. 
  • Coordinate and facilitate Welcoming Schools Trainings in Monterey County according to best practices.
  • Provide ongoing consultation with Welcoming Schools sites regarding post module checklists, implementation of lesson plans, and action items as identified within delivery best practices as outlined in the Welcoming Schools program guide.
  • Educate and distribute Family Acceptance Project information to parents, educators and service providers.

Relationship Management & Community Outreach 

  • Build relationships with LGBTQ+ school clubs in an effort to strengthen effectiveness, support advisors and offer curriculum and resources: 
    • Provide consultation to districts and school sites exploring the start-up of clubs.  
    • Provide technical assistance and support in the implementation of LGBTQ+ inclusive curriculum, content, and resource sharing with clubs.
    • Organize and co-host Monterey and Santa Cruz County GSA events.
  • Assist with school culture and cultural competency of administrators.
  • Build collaborative working relationships with local LGBTQ+ serving organizations and allies. Serve as an organization representative at related community events and activities. 
  • Attend monthly coordination meetings with Rainbow Connections Program Partners to identify and address gaps in services for LGBTQ+ youth and their families, and/or otherwise assist in a variety of planning, implementation and evaluation activities associated with the Rainbow Connections Innovation Plan
  • Provide resources for the community on best practices, national trends and needs in the areas of identity development, diversity, access, and inclusion.
  • Partner with and provide resources to schools and youth serving agencies seeking support with LGBTQ cultural literacy, advocacy, and inclusive environments.
  • Participate in community events to inform and distribute marketing materials and resources. 

QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE: 

This position requires an individual that has the ability to work independently and demonstrate longevity and competency gained through direct experience and previous solid management work history. Only candidates with a clear track record of extended professional leadership and innovation in programming, training, and community engagement will be considered.

  • Effective experience with or demonstration of transferable skills managing expansion of services and/or development of new initiatives. 
  • Direct experience independently developing and implementing evidence-based programs focused on youth, family, and community development. 
  • History of working with school systems, educators, care givers/parents and/or equivalent.
  • Experience developing and delivering trainings or educational workshops.
  • Successfully developed instrumental community partnerships working in collaboration and harmony towards a common goal. 
  • Demonstrated ability and understanding of the importance of working with grant deliverables and data collection.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism, able to develop and maintain relationships with employees, volunteers, donors, board members, and all community stakeholders. 
  • Self-starter, able to work independently to prioritize overlapping projects to meet deadlines. 
  • General working knowledge of Google Workspace; including but not limited to: Gmail, Google Docs, Sheets, Forms and Presentation. 
  • Excellent verbal, and written communication skills; public speaking, facilitation, and coalition building capabilities. 

NOTEWORTHY PLUSES: 

  • Experience with grant writing and/or donor development. 
  • Experience working with diverse populations, including transgender individuals, queer people of color, and non-native English speakers. 
  • English/Spanish bilingual proficiency.
  • Education in social work, mental health, human services, education, nonprofit management or other relevant fields. 
  • Familiar with Santa Cruz, Monterey and San Benito Counties and/or Bay Area LGBTQ+ networks and beyond.

SALARY AND BENEFITS: 

This is a full-time exempt position with a salary range of $80,000- $85,000 based on experience and noteworthy pluses. Benefits include:

This position will need presence in both Monterey and Santa Cruz  communities. Presence in Monterey and/or Santa Cruz office to be negotiated with supervisor but, physical presence with colleagues, partners and community will be required. Schedule requires flexibility and is subject to change based on the community needs. Reliable transportation and an ability to travel around Santa Cruz and Monterey Counties is required. Successful candidates must pass a criminal background check.
