Position: Donor Relations Manager

Location: 108 High Street, Santa Cruz, Ca; Hybrid (Remote 2-3 days per week)

Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt

Compensation: $80,000

Who We Are: Siena House is a residential program providing a stable environment of health, support, and education for pregnant women and their babies who are experiencing homelessness or housing instability. Our mission is to give new mothers experiencing homelessness a solid foundation as parents, and their babies the best start in life by providing a supportive environment during pregnancy and a baby`s critical first year of development.

Position Summary: Reporting to, and in partnership with, the Executive Director (ED), the Donor Manager will lead donor relations and stewardship efforts to sustain and grow Siena House`s philanthropic support. The Donor Manager will focus on cultivating relationships with individual donors, managing donor communications, and overseeing fundraising campaigns to ensure financial sustainability of the organization.

Shift Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9a-5p. Flexibility to adjust as needed for events and meetings.

Donor Manager Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to enhance fundraising efforts.
  • Develop and implement strategies to cultivate, steward, and retain individual donors and corporate sponsorships.
  • Oversee mailed and digital fundraising appeals and track appeal outcomes.
  • Maintain and manage donor databases, ensuring accurate and timely record-keeping.
  • Manage donor acknowledgment and recognition.
  • Plan and execute donor engagement events and appreciation initiatives.
  • Oversee social media and communication strategies to engage donors.
  • Support grant reporting by providing donor impact data.
  • Track fundraising metrics and provide regular reports to the ED and Board of Directors.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director to ensure proper donation tracking and reconciliation.
  • Maintain professional relationships and conduct.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Annual fundraising goals are met or exceeded, ensuring financial stability for Siena House.
  • Individual donor engagement and retention rates increase year over year.
  • Fundraising campaigns and appeals generate measurable growth in donor contributions.
  • Donor appreciation initiatives foster a strong sense of community and continued support.
  • The donor database is consistently updated and accurately maintained.
  • Donor events are well-organized, engaging, and drive increased giving.
  • Effective collaboration with the Board of Directors, Executive Director, and other team members enhances Siena House`s development efforts.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor`s degree or 2 years of experience in a related field, such as donor relations, fundraising, or nonprofit development.
  • Experience collaborating with a Board of Directors.
  • Proficiency in donor management software, CRMs (Little Green Light a plus), Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Mailchimp, Canva, or similar applications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
