The City of Santa Cruz is currently hiring a Chief Building Official. The Planning and Community Development Department has a wide variety of exciting and large projects in the development pipeline, offering you the opportunity to lead impactful initiatives and contribute to community growth. Under general direction, the Chief Building Official manages the Plan Review, Inspection Services, and Green Building functions of the Department of Planning and Community Development; trains and supervises division staff; monitors and coordinates the building permit process; oversees plan reviews and inspections to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations relating to construction and land use; and performs related work as assigned.
