Provac Sales, Inc. is searching for a teardown/cleaning technician to assist in the repair of vacuum pumps at our Soquel, California warehouse. Provac Sales, Inc. has been in business since 1990 providing vacuum pump repair service and sales supporting various industries throughout California and the United States. 

Position will be guided by main technician and will be to be the primary assistant to the repair department. Vacuum pumps are used in various manufacturing processes and are by default “dirty” when we receive them. Provac follows proper disposal and PPE requirements for handling, but candidate should be comfortable working in the repair environment where dirty oils and pieces are being processed. 

Monday-Thursday 8:30-5pm, Friday 8:30-4pm. 

Duties include: 
 

-Disassembly of vacuum pumps, emphasis on oil sealed types. 
-Cleaning of vacuum pumps via various tools including solvent tanks, wire wheel brushes, hand tools. 

-Minor repairs and servicing including painting and possible reassembly under the guidance of main repair technician. 

-Cleaning of warehouse repair area.

Physical Requirements: 

- Prolonged periods of standing, bending, lifting, carrying 

- May lift up to 70 lbs. and move up to 300+ lbs. with assistive devices (dollies, pallet jack, forklift). 

Preferred Qualifications:

- Previous experience in mechanical environment (automotive, etc.)

- Ability to handle tools, equipment and toxins in a safe manner
-Ability to read and write English 
- Ability to listen to a multitude of directions and directives
- Ability to follow directions and some mechanical aptitude 

- Forklift experience and ability
