Warehouse Assistant

Reports to: Director of Operations

Full Time w/benefits

Basic Function:

Under the supervision of the Director of Operations, the Warehouse Assistant assists in warehouse operations functions and inventory control.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepares USDA packing line including restacking and menu changes. Maintains paperwork and inventory documentation.
  • Responsible for preparing agency preorders.
  • Responsible for keeping shopping area stocked and cleaned.
  • Tracks inventory levels of all purchased food.
  • Ensures that USDA program documents (shipping and receiving) are correct.
  • Assist with maintaining an organized and sanitary facility. This includes cooler, freezer, break room, office, rest rooms, and breakdown of cardboard boxes.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

High School diploma or equivalent.

Ability to do heavy lifting using stand-up forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.

Use of basic math skills to maintain accurate transactions.

Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in the warehouse.

Communicates and works effectively and tactfully with Food Bank management, staff, co-workers, and the public in face-to-face, one-on-one and group settings to create a positive workplace environment and to present a positive public image.

Bilingual (English/Spanish).
