Transition Age Youth Services serve current and former foster, probation placement and youth and young adults experiencing homelessness, ages 15-24. We provide an array of programs and services including counseling, skills building, a drop-in resource center, and subsidized supportive housing. Our mission is to support and empower youth in making a health transition into successful adulthood.
The Resource Center Manager provides daily direction and supervision for a team of counselors and support staff who work on site at the TAY Resource Center, with the Victim of Crime Team and off site as a part of the Outreach team, providing case management and basic needs services to youth and young adults out in the community. The TAY team provides a wide spectrum of trauma informed services to empower and support youth and young adults to make positive choices and changes in their lives. The Resource Center Manager ensures site safety and the delivery of quality clinical and case management services both onsite at our Resource Center and out in the community.
Duties & Responsibilities:
-Site Management: Maintains safety and operations of on-site drop in Resource Center for youth and young adults. Assigns tasks and provides leadership and training in daily operations including: staffing, cleaning, cooking, managing donations, maintaining facility, and ordering and keeping track of supplies as well as service provision including program intakes, behavioral contracts, community referrals, and crisis management.
-Personnel Management: Hires, trains and provides regular supportive supervision for direct reports. Encourages personal growth and professional development through trainings and evaluations. Addresses performance issues utilizing agency procedures.
-Community Relationships: Builds and maintains effective relationships with community organizations and collaborative partners.
-Reporting: Supports reporting on several local, state and federal grants.
-Occasional provision of direct services.
-Maintain a valid license and insurance, and occasionally transport clients.
-B.A. in related field. MA preferred. Clinical supervision available.
-At least three year’s work experience with young adult populations.
-At least two year’s of management experience.
-At least two year’s of grant management
-Ability to maintain a clean, safe and supportive environment.
-Experience in a strengths-based leadership approach, trauma informed care, harm reduction and motivational interviewing preferred.
-Previous leadership role in team development and multi-disciplinary team support
-Excellent organizational and administrative skills; demonstrated ability to organize and complete tasks.
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
-Ability to pass a criminal background check.
-Ability to develop and enhance an environment that supports the inherent dignity of all people.
-Must be self-motivated and able to work alone, as well as accept supervision.
-Hours vary – must be flexible and available for some evenings. Shifts include 9-5pm, 10-6pm, 11-7pm and 12-8pm. Occasional requests for weekend/evening shifts.
-Ability to be a team player, maintain effective working relationships and communicate in a respectful and professional manner when dealing with fellow employees, outside agencies and residents.
-CA driver’s license, good driving record, vehicle insurance, and dependable vehicle.
-Bilingual Spanish-speaking ability strongly encouraged.
-Fingerprinting for licensing, criminal record clearance and necessary physical exams are required
Salary Range is $4440.83-$5077.67 monthly, depending on experience, plus $0.50/hour differential for bilingual Spanish competence. Our total compensation package includes a comprehensive medical and dental insurance plan, 403(b) retirement plan, paid holiday & sick time, and 17 days of paid vacation (pro-rated for part-time positions).
