Founded in 1998, the Pajaro Valley Community Health Trust is a nonprofit healthcare foundation in Watsonville, California. Our mission is to improve health and quality of life for all people of the greater Pajaro Valley. To us, “good health” means more than just a functioning body. We envision a community where every resident enjoys full quality of life – this means access to nutritious food, safe spaces, a sense of belonging, a clean environment, adequate shelter, and the opportunities necessary to achieve their full potential. Health Trust programs include direct diabetes and medical nutrition education, grantmaking and health collaboratives such as #LivePV which addresses social inequities.
To prepare for our anticipated growth, The Health Trust is hiring a Development Director. This is a regular full-time position, reporting to the Executive Director. This newly created position is critical to our ability to continue to develop and deliver programs that address all aspects of mental, physical and emotional well-being of our community members.
The Development Director has overall management responsibility for establishing and maintaining the fundraising infrastructure for the Health Trust. He or she will develop and implement fund development strategies, including major gifts, grants, events, corporate, foundation and individual giving with a focus on best practices. Contract compliance, budgeting and staff management are all important parts of this role. This position currently has 1 direct report and will provide leadership to volunteers.
Our ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree and at least five years’ experience of fund development, preferably in the education and nonprofit fields. This person will have demonstrated excellent organizational, managerial, and communication skills and a background in coordinating nonprofit donation strategies that inspire leadership, teams, staff and volunteers. Employees who are successful at the Health Trust have the ability to work well independently and within a team environment, and the ability to manage multiple deadline-driven projects. We are a fun, family-friendly environment, and so a naturally friendly, punctual, professional self- starter who enjoys being part of a team that thrives on helping others to achieve good health and quality of life would fit in well with us.
We offer a comprehensive benefits program including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance. We have a 403b retirement contribution plan, and generous time-off policies.
If you are a dedicated development professional looking for an opportunity to make an impact, this may be the role for you. If this role sounds appealing, we want to hear from you right away. Please send your resume to email@example.com.
Although we will be closed for the holiday season, we will review all resumes when we return to the office in early January. We expect to begin interviews in mid to late January and to fill this position by March of 2020.
