Youth Case Manager (1904)

Through these services, we work to make health, education, and housing more equitable for all people in Santa Cruz County. In an exciting, new partnership with Juvenile Probation, we are hiring two counselors to provide reentry support to youth involved in the Probation system. The services provided include assessment of needs, case management, and collaboration with other service providers. The ideal candidates are bilingual, comfortable providing community-based services, and adept at working with family systems. Must have initiative and strong professional comportment. The two positions are part-time/full-time negotiable and a bilingual differential is available. Salary range $23-27/hr depending on experience and education.


- Coordinate with Probation staff to enroll eligible participants.

- Provide intake assessments, case management, and counseling to youth and families. Travel to community locations and homes to reduce barriers to access.

- Link youth and family to career/life skills trainings, pro-social activities, and other resources.

- Collaborate professionally with partner agencies.

- Attend weekly Probation meetings as well as program meetings

- Maintain appropriate documentation of services


  • BA/BS degree with necessary experience and expertise to serve youth and families.
  • Fully bilingual in English/Spanish required.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience working with youth involved in the juvenile justice system or with a history of exposure to violence/trauma.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Proof of citizenship or right to work in the United States
  • Criminal Record Clearance, Physical examination and TB clearance before hire.
  • Valid Driver's License and vehicle insurance
  • Provide own transportation, with and without clients, and be familiar with community resources.

Wages & Benefits:
Our total compensation package includes a comprehensive medical and dental insurance plan for full time employees, 403(b) retirement plan, paid holiday, sick time, and 17 days of paid vacation, pro-rated for positions less than 40 hours a week.
