About the Position: The full-time, tenure track instructor will enjoy a 175-Day work schedule. This position will be split between Kinesiology and Athletics: fifty percent as head coach for the intercollegiate women's softball team and fifty percent as kinesiology instructor. Courses may include but not be limited to first aid, weight training, athletic conditioning and other Kinesiology courses. Cabrillo College expects and supports excellence. New faculty members enhance Cabrillo's state-wide reputation as a leader in shared governance through involvement in division, campus-wide and state committees. Professional responsibilities include writing curriculum, program development, committee membership, student outreach, and attendance at department and division meetings.

The position begins on Monday, August 17, 2020, pending Governing Board ratification. Classes may be in a traditional "in class" setting, online or hybrid format, scheduled over summer and/or winter months, and at various campus locations; days, evenings, and/or weekends.

About the Department: The Health, Athletics, Wellness and Kinesiology (HAWK) Division encourages students to acquire knowledge and skills necessary to achieve and maintain optimal health and well-being. Cabrillo offers intercollegiate athletic programs that reflect the interests and abilities of the College's student body and local high schools. Students' health and welfare, sound academic progress and ethical conduct are the foundation of the athletic program.  The department functions within the rules and regulations of the Coast Athletic Conference and the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA). There are seven contract faculty instructors in the Kinesiology Department, six whom are intercollegiate coaches. Cabrillo supports 15 intercollegiate athletic programs, seven men's programs and eight women's programs.

Starting Salary Range: $57,157 to $87,673 per year, salary placement determined by documented education and experience; maximum initial salary step placement on the 175 Day faculty salary schedule (Download PDF reader) is step 9. An annual doctoral stipend of $3,816 is granted to eligible faculty.
