This position will serve as the campus Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) with overall responsibility for the information security program.
The ITS (Information Technology Services) Director of Security is an advocate for the Institution's total information security needs and is responsible for the development and delivery of a comprehensive information security strategy to optimize the security posture of the university. The CISO leads the development and implementation of a security program that leverages collaborations and campus-wide resources, facilitates information security governance, advises senior leadership on security direction and resource investments, and designs appropriate policies to manage information security risk. The complexity of this position requires a leadership approach that is engaging, imaginative, and collaborative, with a sophisticated ability to work with other leaders to set the best balance between security strategies and other priorities at the campus level.
This position is the technical security subject matter expert for campus information systems. This position recommends, initiates, manages, and oversees projects to install, maintain, and/or upgrade security solutions at both the departmental and campus-wide levels. This position provides estimates for managing investments and budget strategy in alignment with campus and systemwide security initiatives. Oversees security architecture review and design of campus information systems. Must have thorough knowledge of IT security technology and regulations. Recommends management strategies for information and infrastructure security at the campus.
Oversees the security compliance activities regarding campus resources through department staff and in collaboration with other IT managers, staff or campus experts. Makes decisions on IT security matters and ensures achievement of objectives.
