This position provides a variety of IT services to the Physical Planning and Development Organization (PPDO) on our campus. Assignments may include database administration, application administration and programming, IT project management, systems or server administration, systems and process analysis, security, solution development and maintenance, business technical support or a combination of these and / or other IT functions.
The mission of the Local IT Specialist (LITS) is to optimize the use of available resources within the Information Technology Services (ITS) Division in achieving the following objectives:
1. Work with the PPDO on campus to realize their maximum potential with respect to their department-specific objectives.
2. Developing and providing a stable, robust Infrastructure that will support the current and expected needs of the division, its departments, and programs.
3. Apply professional concepts, department/ unit and campus/ OP policies and procedures to resolve a variety of complex issues in one or more IT areas of specialization. Analyzes complex issues using defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action(s).
4. Provides an auxiliary support role to the campus police department, focusing on infrastructure and maintenance.
LITS provide personalized, discipline-specific, IT support for campus in accomplishing the mission. They leverage commonalities through cross-divisional technical communities to develop and deliver right-sized/right-priced common services as appropriate, aggregating what we learn and provide as input to ITS.
This position provides strategic direction, technical leadership, human and resource management to develop and deliver IT services to campus administrative units. Incumbent works as part of a collaborative team that delivers coordinated IT services following Technology and Engineering team standards and best practices.
