This position is responsible for coordinating and executing the various tasks necessary to produce and deliver high quality crops including but not limited to: planting, pruning, thinning, mowing, irrigation, and harvesting various crops in an eco-friendly manner.
Engage in and direct crop production operations, such as planning, tilling, planting, fertilizing, cultivating, spraying, and harvesting.
Cultivate and harvest (preferably organic) fruits, vegetables, and other domesticated plant products in an environmentally sound manner.
Plan crop activities based on factors such as crop maturity, season, and weather conditions.
Organize activities in irrigation and natural fertilizer applications.
Inspect orchards and fields to detect disease or insect infestation.
Develop and use environmentally friendly practices.
Keep documented reports concerning crop type and schedules.
Keep track of inventory, plan budgets, and arrange for purchase of seeds, soil additives, and other necessary supplies and tools.
Give input and suggestions for crop care/growth and facility improvements.
Inspect buildings, fences, fields, supplies, and equipment in order to determine work to be performed.
Follow safety precautions (wearing breathing protection when cleaning chicken droppings).
Other duties as assigned by your supervisor(s).
Required Qualifications & Expectations
Bachelor's degree preferred in agriculture, crop management, or any related fields.
Must have extensive knowledge of:
Plant health and nutrition as applied to particular species and breeds
Soil preparation and irrigation
Pest management and weed control
Must have knowledge of the specific requirements for growing fruit and vegetables.
Must have an understanding of harvest and post-harvest handling practices.
Beneficial if you’re familiar with growing grapevines, vermiculture, and microgreens.
Must have thorough record keeping skills.

Physical and Safety Requirements
Lift, push, pull, grasp up to 50 lbs.
Walk, bend, squat, kneel, stand, reach above shoulder level, and move on hard surfaces up to 8 hours/day.
Required to wear protective clothing and respirator in circumstances that require personal protection from infectious disease.

Trial Period: up to one month
Full Time (up to 40 hours per week) - OT may sometimes be necessary (weekend work).

Works With - Farm owners, animal care/husbandry technician, farm facility maintenance, groundskeepers, and safety manager.
