The Class A Delivery Driver operates vehicles ranging from vans, box-trucks and semi-tractor trailers. Driver is responsible for ensuring customer orders are safely and efficiently pulled and delivered while adhering to company’s exceptional standard for safety and customer service. As a member of the Operations team, the Delivery Driver plays an integral role as the face of the company and is essential to maintaining goodwill and developing a working relationship with customers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following

  • Adhere to company guidelines, policies and standard practices
  • Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Practice good housekeeping by maintaining work area organized, sanitary and clear of safety hazards
  • Strictly follow company produce handling procedures
  • Assist with new employee training
  • Review customer pick-list for comments regarding color, quantity, quality, size & tagged product
  • Operate barcode scanner and pull product in order of rotation
  • Communicate to Checker or supervision any short items, low inventory, quality issues or substitutions
  • Load and organize product into a delivery vehicle according to route delivery sequence and company’s specifications
  • Pick-up all delivery paperwork from dispatch and thoroughly read customer comments before delivery
  • Conduct pre-trip vehicle inspection (low tire pressure, tire wear, dents, etc.) and report any issues
  • Perform equipment safety inspections and report unsafe equipment or other workplace hazards to supervisor
  • Drive company vehicle while adhering to rules and regulations of the road at all times
  • Follow set, scheduled route for daily deliveries and inform supervision of recommended route sequence changes or customer feedback
  • Review delivery with the customer to ensure the product meets their needs, obtain customer signature, collect payment and/or issue credits (cash collected must be counted and verified with customer present)
  • Report any shorted, damaged or missed product to dispatcher or sales office immediately
  • Maintain ongoing radio communication throughout day and contact dispatch prior to returning to facility
  • Refuel vehicle with ½ tank of fuel or less before returning to facility
  • Check-in returned product with QC and return to designated inventory location
  • Review and turn in delivery paperwork to bookkeeping office at end of each route
  • Report any accidents or vehicle issues encountered while in route to supervision
  • Document breaks and lunches on daily trip-sheet
  • Document all Company and DOT required paperwork manually or electronically, such as, but not limited to daily driver logs following applicable state and federal regulations
  • Check-in with supervisor before clocking out for the day

Work Environment

This position works in a warehouse setting. This role routinely uses standard warehouse equipment such as hand trucks and pallet jacks. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and finger to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects ranging from 10 to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 70 pounds.




  • Must be 21 years or older as required by Department of Transportation (DOT)
  • Must pass pre-employment background, DOT physical and drug screen
  • Must possess valid Class A CDL and clear MVR
  • Produce knowledge a plus – i.e. fruits & vegetables, organic & conventional
  • 1 year experience in a fast pace warehouse environment
  • Experience with electric pallet-jack & hand-truck
  • Read, write & effectively communicate verbally in English (bilingual a plus)
  • Perform basic arithmetic (i.e., addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) and uses basic numerical concepts (e.g., whole numbers, percentages) to complete job tasks

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a day time position and interested candidates must be able to work a flexible schedule and overtime hours as required by business operations.
