There are currently two full-time vacancies for Management Analyst, one position in the Building Division Planning and Community Development Department and one position in the Operations Division of the Public Works Department. The list established from this recruitment may be used to fill other Management Analyst vacancies in any City department for up to one year. Under direction, the Management Analyst performs a variety of mid-management level duties in support of general administration, coordination, and monitoring of departmental operations, programs, and projects; conducts research and analysis and prepares reports; assists in the development of annual budgets; develops and implements procedures and special programs. This position requires a Bachelor's degree in business, public administration or related field; and two years of responsible project or program coordination and/or management experience and some research and analytic work. Four additional years of relevant experience (six years of experience total) can be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree. Building Division of the Planning and Community Development Department: This position supports the Building Division of the Planning and Community Development Department, which includes Permits, Building Inspection, and Plan Review sections. The duties will include: overseeing the general administration and management of Permits section; coordination and monitoring of Division operations; managing programs, projects, research, analysis and reports on particular subjects; assistance with special programs; budgeting and fiscal support.
Operations Division of the Public Works Department: This position supports the Operations division of the Public Works Department, which includes Operations, Fleet, Streets/Traffic, Facilities/Energy Projects, and Homelessness Response Field divisions. Duties span general administration, budget and fiscal support by monitoring of department operations, programs, and projects which may require being out in the field. Ongoing programs include annual flood control vegetation management and vehicle/equipment replacement program.
