Temporary Utility Assistance Programs Analyst

The Water Department for the City of Santa Cruz is seeking a Temporary Utility Assistant Programs Analyst to work in Water Customer Assistance, developing, implementing, administering, and performing outreach for programs aimed at assisting low-income utility customers. These programs include the Low Income Household Water/Wastewater Assistance Program, the Payment Arrangement Program, and the Low Income Water Efficiency Program. This position requires a high degree of both technical and interpersonal skill to both administer programs and provide assistance and outreach to customers. The position will coordinate work with Customer Service staff on a regular basis, so the ability to work well with a team is paramount.  This position is anticipated to work 40 hours per week.

Minimum qualifications are a Bachelor's degree in environmental science, environmental studies, business administration, public administration, or a related field (depending upon area of assignment - current assignment is in Utility Assistance Programs) OR a high school diploma or tested equivalent and three years of experience in the coordination of environmental programs, environmental compliance programs or related areas. Temporary positions are non-benefited and are limited to a total of 999 hours in a fiscal year.
