Wastewater Collection Maintenance Trainee or Technologist I/II

The current vacancy is for a Wastewater Collection Maintenance Trainee or Technologist I/II in the Wastewater Collection Division of the Public Works Department. This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week with full benefits. Under supervision, the Wastewater Collection Maintenance Trainee/ Technologist I/Technologist II performs a variety of routine to skilled work in the inspection, construction, maintenance, and repair of the City`s wastewater collection and stormwater systems; and performs related work as assigned.

Minimum requirements for the Trainee position are a high school degree or tested equivalent, one year of paid or unpaid manual labor experience, and a valid California Class C driver`s license.  A Class B Driver`s License with the appropriate endorsements is required by the end of twelve (12) month probationary period.  The department will work with the selected candidate to obtain a Class B license by the end of probation.  

The Technologist I and II positions require a Class B driver`s license and additional certifications to include a Grade I or Grade II Wastewater Collection System Maintenance Technologist Certificate issued by the California Water Environment Association (CWEA).  Please refer to the City Jobs page on the link below for the full job description including all certification requirements for the Technologist I and II positions.
